What is checked today
Email code and ID barcode
The person proves they own the inbox, and the barcode of a US driver's license or ID gives name, birth date, expiry and age.
Selfie with liveness
Random moves checked on our own engine, which is not certified, and the face compared with the ID photo.
OFAC sanctions lists
The OFAC sanctions lists are downloaded every day, and each check shows its result and its source.
Virginia contractor license
Checked against a partial copy of the DPOR records; anything outside it goes to review.
Fraud graph and passkey
The same document used by another person is flagged, and a passkey (Face ID / Touch ID) lets the person come back without new photos.
Review queue, API and webhooks
Your team reviews what did not pass with the photos and the reasons, and API keys and signed webhooks connect your own systems.

Frequently asked questions
Is the liveness check certified?
No. Our own engine runs on our servers and is not certified. When a customer needs certified liveness (ISO/IEC 30107-3), a partner engine plugs into the same flow.
What does a document-only check prove?
It reads the ID barcode and checks that name, birth date and expiry are consistent. It does not prove the person holding it is the owner — for that, use ID + selfie.
Does the person need an app?
No. The link opens in the phone browser. There is also a socialDNA ID app for iPhone.
Is my people's data shared?
No. The barcode is read and the face is checked on our servers; nothing is sent to an AI provider or used to train models. Images and full tax IDs open only with a login of your team and images are deleted 30 days after the decision.
Where is the seal used?
The seal is reused by your socialDNA apps — for example, MyESign can require a verified signer before the document opens.
What is coming next?
A phone code by SMS, certified liveness and physical document authenticity through a partner, an SSN check with the SSA, and PEP and adverse media. They are not available yet.
